Privacy Policy

1. Summary

• We store the minimum data needed to run the game (your Discord user ID and game progress).
• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not read your private DMs or general server chat for marketing.
• Leaderboards may show your Discord identity next to public game stats.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Discord identifiers

When you use a Fisher command, Discord provides information required to process that interaction. We store your Discord user ID (a numeric snowflake) as your account key in our database. We may also receive and temporarily process your username, display name, avatar URL, and the server/channel/interaction context Discord sends with the command. We do not ask for your email, phone number, or password.

2.2 Game profile and progress

To run the fishing game we store data such as:

• Coins, XP, level, and location
• Equipped rod and bait; inventory quantities
• Caught fish (species, weight, value, time, location)
• Collection / species log (first catch, times caught, best weight)
• Totals (e.g. catches, coins earned), biggest catch records
• Cooldowns and daily reward state (last cast, last daily claim, streak)
• Account creation timestamp in Fisher

2.3 Server context

Slash commands run in a guild (server) or DM context. We may log guild/channel IDs in application logs for debugging abuse or errors. Fisher’s core game save is tied to your user ID, not primarily to a single server.

2.4 Website

The Fisher marketing / info site is static. We do not run accounts on the website. Standard web server or host logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) may be created by the host or CDN for security and reliability. We do not intentionally place advertising cookies. If a host or analytics tool is added later, this policy will be updated.

2.5 What we do not intentionally collect

• Message content from channels, except what you include in a slash-command interaction
• Payment card or real-money purchase data (Fisher has no real-money shop)
• Precise GPS location
• Special-category data (health, politics, etc.)

3. How we use data

• Provide and operate the game (casts, inventory, shop, travel, dailies, profiles)
• Show leaderboards and “biggest fish” rankings
• Enforce cooldowns, prevent abuse, and fix bugs
• Maintain security and stability of the Service
• Respond to support or data requests you send us

We do not use Fisher data for third-party advertising.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

If you are in the EEA/UK or a similar jurisdiction, we process data as needed to perform the contract of providing the Service you request (playing the game), and for legitimate interests such as security, abuse prevention, and improving reliability—balanced against your rights.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We may share data only as follows:

• Discord: Interactions happen on Discord’s platform; Discord processes data under its own policies (Discord Privacy Policy).
• Infrastructure providers: Hosting, backups, or database services that process data only to run Fisher.
• Public game features: Leaderboards and similar features may display your Discord name/avatar (as provided by Discord) alongside public stats (e.g. coins, level, catches).
• Legal requirements: If required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the Service.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Retention

Game data is kept while your Fisher profile is active and the Service continues to operate. Logs may be retained for a shorter period for debugging and security. If the Service shuts down permanently, we may delete remaining databases after a reasonable wind-down period.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the game data we hold about your user ID
• Correction of inaccurate data (where feasible)
• Deletion of your Fisher profile and related game records
• Objection / restriction in limited cases under local law

To request deletion or a copy of your data: contact the Operator via Discord (application owner) and include your Discord user ID. We may need to verify that you control that account. After deletion, you can start over by using Fisher again (a new empty profile).

You can also stop using Fisher at any time and remove the bot from servers you control. Removing the bot from a server does not automatically delete your global user profile; request deletion if you want your save wiped.

8. Children

Fisher is intended for users who meet Discord’s minimum age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the higher age required in your region). If you believe a child provided data, contact us so we can delete the associated profile.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the database and bot token (for example, restricted access to the host and environment variables). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Do not share bot tokens or admin credentials.

10. International transfers

Data may be stored or processed in the country where the Operator or hosting provider is located. By using Fisher, you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes may also be announced via the Fisher website or Discord presence when practical. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
